meanwhile, elsewhere

It’s Friday’s online finds: enjoy.

  • Nobody is judging your posts (twitter)
  • Leaf blowers… why?!? (NYT)
  • Your ‘Surge Capacity’ Is Depleted — It’s Why You Feel Awful. Here’s how to pull yourself out of despair and live your life (Elemental)
  • What We’ve Stolen From Our Kids (The Atlantic)
  • IKEA kataloger 1950-2020
  • I hope my friend Jenny doesn’t mind but am sharing her thoughts on this because I feel the same: “I find this so disappointing. World Athletics sat back while Nike sponsored athletes were permitted to wear shoes unavailable to competitors, giving them a 1-2 minute advantage (some would call that a type of technology-based cheating) but comes to battle on a Black woman’s body because it defies their centuries-old white supremacist based ideals of what a woman’s body should look like. I sure hope all the wealthy companies and athletic communities that took a day out of advertising to post a black square realize that this is the type of systemic gender-based racism that needs to be rooted out. (The Guardian via Jenny)
  • Why I Hope to Die at 75. An argument that society and families—and you—will be better off if nature takes its course swiftly and promptly (The Atlantic)
  • These dollhouse kits are amazing (City of Industry)

Until we meet again, xo
