The 90th Academy Awards nominations were announced. Excited?
This was my reaction today:
That girl Saoirse. Love her.
I loved Brooklyn (2 years ago) but knew it was a long shot. Now she’s back with Lady Bird, and I feel like I can properly campaign. It’s a wonderful movie and Greta Gerwig is the 5th female EVER to be nominated for Best Achievement in Directing. Yes!
AND JACKIE! Guys, Roseanne was my show. Jackie!!!
Right now, I kind of wish I hadn’t already seen Lady Bird so I can watch it for the first time again but as always, my goal is to see all of the movies nominated for the Best Picture, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Actor in a Leading Role and Actor in a Supporting Role categories so it’s time to get down to business.
- There are 59 different movies (I’ve seen 5: I, Tonya, Lady Bird / The Flordia Project / Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri / Wonder)
- There are 9 Best Picture nominations (I’ve seen 2)
- There are 14 combined in the Best Pictures, Best Actress, Supporting Actress, Actor and Supporting Actor categories (I’ve seen 4)
- Movies I am most excited to see (Call Me By Your Name and Get Out)
- Movies I am not too excited to see but will watch (The Shape of Water and Dunkirk)
Here’s a link to my handy downloadable PDF. Happy watching!
