Welcome to Wedding Wednesday! I am daydreaming about weddings – whether it’s planning, attending, or spying – the season is just around the corner! There are a few special weddings that have just happened which hopefully I can share but in the meantime, I can’t wait to pass over the post to my friend, Sabrina. She attended her brother-in-law’s wedding in Mexico last summer and was nice enough to share some details. I asked and she said yes!

I am super excited to be a guest on Meghan’s blog today and we have some beautiful wedding eye candy for you. Some of you may be anxiously awaiting trips down south that you’ve been planning for months. A little getaway from our harsh winter here in Eastern Canada is quite common and some of you may even be going to Mexico. Well I went to Mexico recently, although it was in July (super hot), it was for a wedding (super fun) and it was sans kids (super relaxing).
My husband’s brother married a lovely girl from Mexico and we were lucky enough to witness this union in person on a beautiful beach in the Mayan Riviera. It was a stunning wedding with very pretty décor. I thought it’d be nice to have a quick escape to a dreamy paradise now that the cold weather is finally settling in.
We stayed at Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort. Dreamy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by some of the bride’s family who live in northern Mexico. This was a vacation destination for them as well and everyone was very excited for the festivities to begin.
The ceremony took place under this palapa out on the water. A beautiful location with a lovely breeze so it actually wasn’t hot at all. Below are some of the gorgeous wedding details. Often, couples choose to get married at a resort for the ease of less planning; they simply choose a package and just show up. Karla (the Bride) however, did not do that! She put so much time and work into every detail and it showed. So pretty!
After the ceremony, everyone stayed on the beach for dinner and dancing. I loved that we didn’t have to go inside to a restaurant because when I go down south, outside is where I want to be!
Once it got dark, the Bride changed into a cute white cocktail dress and we all danced on a dance floor built on the beach.
And the evening ended with what else but… A Mariachi band!!
Congratulations to the happy couple. It was wonderful to share in the joy of your day, and we wish you many years of happiness. Felicitationes!!
